The Eye of the Past

GM: Armor Yote

Date: June 11th, 2022

Party: Ashen (Nomadic), Bereze (Syndicated), Calcine (J.C.), Ozymandias (Mad Mike), Red Sonja (Sudain),

Synopsis: A recent storm caused a rock slide that has just revealed a previously untouched cave system on the west coast of Bag Island. Thus far only a couple of locals have even looked inside but they reported that it is filled with strange writings carved into the walls and bearded faces, each with a single eye in the forehead.

Log Entry:

The group took The Salty Vixen to the noted location and came across an old Cyclopes civilization where there were three skeletons that came to life and attacked the group. Luckily, the skeleton Cyclops' heads were undead evil creatures of some type (Large Beheaded (Undead/Evil)), so it made my abilities much more effective. Ashen, Bereze, and I handled two of them, and Sonja, Ozy, and Calcine handled another two across the yard. Ashen is improving his shot, he shattered a skull to dust.

We found a dead body that had a magic compass on it, a golden goblet, and a journal. It looked like it fell off the cliff. It turns out that this person was a pathfinder guild member who decided to go on an unofficial mission for them. The Sargave Chalice used to be magical, and he was wanting to reawaken the magic of the chalice by visiting the pool sacred to the moon at this location. His research indicated that the temple was over on Bag Island (this location). The last entry in the journal indicated he found a way in through the cliff, and thus fell to his death.

We went to explore the main hall and found nothing of true use but were able to dodge some kind of trap or haunt that attacked us with pieces of stature in a tornado in the middle of the room. We went to the left hall which seemed to have been a library at one point but that was burned for some reason. That's about the time we all smelled fire and wisely stepped out of the room just in time so that we didn't burn to death when the room caught on fire. We explored an offering hall and collected some offering bowls that would sell for some money.

When we were exploring the last of the front buildings we came across these sky metal-looking egg-shaped balls. Red Sonja would beat open one of these sky metal things until an Akata popped out. I told them we shouldn't have messed with these things but no one listens to the pirate woman. I went in to the room and hit the one Sonja hatched with one of my Chakram and with some effort we were able to take down the first hatchling. That's when we discovered the others were starting to hatch. There were six in total, and they hatched one at a time. According to Bereze these things were immune to fire, had toxic bites, and are basically aliens not from Galorian. We are able to slay them all, but not without some of us becoming wounded and poisoned.

We moved into the final room where the moon pool from the slain pathfinder's journal. In this room, we found a skeleton of some kind of Cyclops and Orangatang experiment. It started to attack us when we entered the room. We swiftly took down the skeleton together. A ghost-like Cyclops cleric of some kind showed up after we put the chalice into the moon pool. They informed us that they assisted those here before it became corrupted and they did not know why their spirit lingered here still. The spirit asked for some of the adventurers to return to assist them when they find out what their purpose is for lingering here.
